I want to give permission to a support team to grant him for product delete permission, media upload, plugin edit, and theme edit permission on my site so that he can debug the issue.

    How can I do that?

  • It is worth noting that anyone with permission to edit a theme or plugin essentially has permission to do anything on the site. An alternative solution would be to create a duplicate (staging) copy of your site that has different logins and give them access to that. Or, send them a backup of your site (again with different login details) which they can install on their own computer, then ask them to send back the modified theme/plugin.

Thanks, Kartik Shukla, I’m using the “user role editor” plugin. I created a user and gave the necessary permission to the user but in the user’s dashboard that permission is not showing.
For example, I unchecked wp rocket but in his dashboard, he can access that. I gave him, he can edit, delete media but in his dashboard nothing showing.

Thanks, Nigel M Rogers. How can I create a staging site with different login details?
If I give the plugin support team backup of my site, will he be able to do any mischievous jobs later?

Check your hosting settings for the staging site feature or ask your host to set it up. If your host does not provide staging sites you can create a site on separate hosting where you can install and test things before implementing them on your main site.

I have child theme configurator, so creating staging site will it effect child theme configurator?

No, creating a staging site won’t affect the child themes. a staging website is a twin website that functions exactly like your original website. After making changes on the staging website you can repeat/transfer those changes on the live website. This reduces the risk of breaking things on the live website.

Thanks for helping and your suggestion Nigel M Rodgers. Now I understood about staging of site.
