• I am using a plugin (temporarily) to remove hide the title on a page, while using it I accidently dragged the settings off the sidebar while editing a page. Now it is at the bottom under the content of the page. I can not seem to drag it back or open the preferences to place it back on the Page Setting Sidebar in editing screen.

Here is a Screenshot of it.

I search on the forums but when you search sidebar you get frontend topics.

The custom metabox positioning is saved in the usermeta table. Unfortunately I seem to be unable to drag anything about so I can tell you the meta_key name to look for. If you can find the right meta value, dropping the row will restore default positioning. You’d view this information through the phpMyAdmin app, usually accessed through your hosting account. Be sure you’re looking at data for your user ID.

Since we’re unsure of the proper meta_key name, it’s imperative that you export a backup of the table before making any changes so it can be restored in case you drop the wrong row.

One way to maybe find the right meta_key is to compare your user’s meta keys to those of a user who has made no changes to the editor. Of the keys you have that they do not, one of them ought to be the right one?

Thanks for the information I found it in the entry “meta-box-order_page” under my usermeta.

I removed the location and its name. Now it is back to normal.
