How to get started with my own ideas?

    I successfully installed wordpress and now I am looking for a guide or tutorial of how to start. I selected a theme, but how to modify it? Or how to create my own theme? ’til now I was doing homepages with Adobe GoLive – that is my level of knowledge. I hardly know anything about blogs. So where is information? Who can help? Maybe my questions are too basic here…

    If you’re using WP 1.5, you modify themes (edit them) by going to Presentation, and then Theme Editor.

    Another thing that can help–install WP a second time in a temp directory so you can play with the themes and see how they look without ruining your actual blog. I did this so I wouldn’t have to bother installing php and such on my laptop. It’s a simple thing, but sometimes just changing stuff here and there is the best way to learn.

    Then possibly try the Classic as an upgrade platform – it is easy to follow – and maybe fit the Gemini theme. Then you can just style it.
