When my page gets loaded and i click anywhere on the page a pop up ad shows. Happens once every time the page is loaded.

I look in the source code and it has this pop up code: aria-haspopup. I did not add this code. It just started happening all of a sudden.

How do I get rid of this code?

Its to late to make a copy of the themes folder. The code is in the themes folder.

I just want it for reference.

My hosting plan has other themes and they are not effected by popups. Its only this particular theme that is getting the popup.

How does this happen? i have different urls with the same theme. but each of them have been hacked.

I don’t know who these guys are but they’ve also been hacked:

rob has this problem started for you today?

I just did a complete uninstall of word press and reinstalled the theme. the pop up still shows.

Yes. I’ve fixed the problem eventually by deleting the theme (I couldn’t rename it… got a nondescript server error) and unzipping the original theme in it’s place.

Now the question is, how do I secure the site? I’ve already changed the FTP password and the admin password.

Have you tried getting a fresh copy of your theme?

I’m not sure whats going on because every wordpress that has the theme is getting popups. the rest of my wordpress sites that have different themes are just fine.

What plugin’s have you got installed?
I’ve got the following active plugin’s:
    Comprehensive Google Map Plugin
    Contact Form 7
    Duplicate Post
    WordPress Importer

What’s the name of the theme you’re having trouble with?

geoplaces… it only started happening today. I’ve disabled all plugins.

The popup only happens on the theme I’m using. It doesn’t happen to any other themes.

    . . .

because every wordpress that has the theme

…Perhaps you just want to delete that theme…?

If it only occurs when you use that theme, and no other time then delete that theme and chalk it up as a learning excercise. If you don’t delete it then get used to the idea of generating ad revenue for other people.

jan, the problem started happening today. I’m not sure what i did since I’ve only been uploading images to my site.

I want to get to the root of the problem so it can help me and help others in the future. why leave a problem un solved?

Go back to templatic.com ( I assume that’s where you bought the theme) and download a fresh copy. Then backup the goeplaces theme folder, delete the old one and unzip the new one in it’s place.
