How to Get Rid of Duplicate Title

Looks like they are by some SEO plugin.

Well I deactivated every plugin I had, and the title was still duplicated.

Please post a link to demonstrate the problem.

I have the same thing. If I go WP Admin and go to pages – all of my pages that have a page title also have the same page title as the first word on the page. If I remove the page title, then I don’t know which page it is. But the word(s) will be gone from the page. Unlike the above example it isn’t double it just puts it in there and I don’t want it there.

Yes. The title shows up twice. As I said, they were added by some plugin. They may not go away because they are generated and added to your database. Possibly, they can be harmless.

BTW, did you check your Google Webmaster Tools account if they are shown as something like duplicate title or anything that Google finds as objectionable?

I don’t know what Google thinks, mine looks real bad and it is a sales site.

Big ass Home above it and to the left. Home is the page name, it is simply the main page. All other pages have the same thing

I’m not sure where exactly to look on webmaster tools to see if there is. I didn’t see anything when I looked around though.

If the duplicate title is something that will be permanent is it best to just start over?

You have to check your database. If they are already there, they will appear in search results. In that case, I think, you may have to manually remove them. If you were using a plugin that added these duplicates, you can contact the plugin author for any possible easy remedy.
