    Hello,

i installed the Plugin on my site, and removed my whitelisted home IP. I use on my site the Ultimate Member Plugin, what is changing my general Admin Url: example https://domain.com/wp/wp-login.php to https://domain.com/login. I also tested the Login with / and without the reverse proxy setting while on my server im running apache and nginx as reverse proxy working.

I test with a Subscriber User Account, but even if i enter the password 10 times wrong, i can login afterwards with the correct password.

Under the Activity Tab i see the Hostname / Ip User and Username what was used to login.

How can i get the Plugin to work?

    Thx
    Regards
    Sally

    Hello Gregory,

the UM Support provide a new Pre Dev Version under the following Link:

    https://github.com/ultimatemember/ultimatemember/releases

With the Prev Version the Limit Login attempts are working. Only the following issues are happen, dont know if its a setting issue:

    1. When WP Cerber is activated and i Logout as Admin from the Dashboard i get a 404 Error. When i login as Subscriber, and Logout it works.

    2. When i login with a user, enter the right password i can login / logout.
When i login again with this user with wrong password, the message come like 3 / 2 / 1 login attempts, after i get the locked out message “you are locked out for 5 Minutes”. When trying during this time to login again, it shows me that i locked for x minutes.

When the 5 minutes passed, and i enter again the wrong password, WordPress dont count down, i get directly the message wrong password, and after entering the second time the wrong password i get locked out.

I created then a new user, to test, and its the same result, only the first time i get the message you have x login attempts with the count down, after when login the count down dont appear anymore.

    WP Cerber Settings for testing:

Attempts 3 allowed retries in 60 minutes

    Lockout duration 5 minutes

    What can be the problem?

    Thx
    Best Regards

    Hi, Sally!

The short answer to your question: developers of UM. It’s not a bug. I checked the link you’ve posted. The code has still the same issue: the process of authentication of a user is broken. Unfortunately, I’m unable to help with that issue. Ask UM developers to study and implement all required steps correctly.

    Hi Gregory,

thanks will get in contact with UM Developers again. Regarding the 404 Error when trying to Logout of the Admin Dashboard, has this also be fixed by UM ??

    Hi, Sally!

That means you have set up Ultimate Member logout page incorrectly or removed that page. I’m unable to reproduce that with default Ultimate Member settings I tried. Please, ask help about Ultimate Member on its support forum. Ultimate Member developers are in charge of that.

    Hi Gregory!

When WP Cerber is deactivated, Logout Link Ultimate Member work for Subscribers and Admin Account, so the logout Link / logout page is correct. When WP Cerber is activaed, Logout Link work for Subscribers but as Admin you get 404 Error..

    Hi Gregory,

when i disable redirect dashboard requests in WP Cerber, the 404 Error is fixed.

But i have still problems, to get WP Cerber working together with Ultimate member Plugin.

I have tested again, and have still the following issues:

    1. New User created, tried to login 3 times with wrong password count down appear, after account locked out. After lock out time passed, login with the same user with wrong password, count down not appaer, and after second time wrong password account is locked out. Tried then after the lockout 3 times again, same result countdown don’t appaer anymore.

    2. Created an other user account, and tried first time to login with correct password. Login was possible then i logout from the account. Then i tried to login with wrong password, and count down is not shown, only message wrong password after second time wrong password account is locked. Means when one time logged in successful with an account, afterwards when login with wrong password countdown also don’t appaer.

    3. Tried to login with existing account again over different IP Adress, then the countdown first time appear again, but afterwards with wrong password never again.

I wrote again to the UM Developers, and get the following information:

    Hi Sally,

We’ve already implemented the code in the UM login functions. Same as Woocommerce + WP Cerber Security integration, their developer needs to create a special function to fix this issue on their end. We already did what they asked us to change.

Can you please tell me, what can still be the problem, or what information can i send to the UM Development, to get both Plugins working?

    Thanks a Lot!

    Best regards
    Sally

    Hi Gregory,

Also, there’s an issue with the error text coming from cerber plugin (see image link). It has extra </p> tag that’s why it is outside the UM notice wrapper (red box).
