Hi. One of my Semiologic blogs has links set up in the sidebar (under “Green Building Resources” in sidebar at https://www.building-green.org).

In another Semiologic Blog (www.home-decorating-ideas.org) I can’t figure out how to move the links in the header bar to the sidebar as it is with the other one. Or just how to set up links in sidebar at all, as they are in other one.

It’s driving me a tad looney trying to figure out how to format the sidebar the way I want and also change the order of the categories in the sidebar. Any takers on this? Thanks for any clues.

  • I would look in the sidebar.php for the site that has the links and then put the same/similar code in the other site’s sidebar.

The code is the same in both. The best I have been able to do so far is create a new “Page” and give it a slug name of sidebar. But that’s not what I want. I want to be able to ceate a new Link Category and have it show up in the sidebar, not the header bar. It’s driving me somewhat insane.

It looks like each of the header items links to a Page. Is that correct? If so, then you need to use the wp_list_pages() function.

Unfortunately, you lost me there. I don’t know the answer to your question. Maybe if you tell me where I find the wp_list_pages() function, I can figure out how it’s different from the blog that’s set up the way I want and I can copy it. Does that even make sense?

By the way, I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

Turns out, the problem was a simple matter of activating a sidebar plugin.
