    Yannick,
How does a Link Library site get a cloud of tags attached to Link Library content?

The built-in tag cloud widget will LIST the tags, but the default widget expects the wp_posts:post_type value to be “post” or “page”, else it reports “Nothing found”.

    TIA.
    Dave

The post type for Link Library is link_library_links. So if you can specify a post type in the widget, this should do the trick.

I agree now. Seems that Link Library and default WP tags both show in the widget as “Tags”.
    THANKS.

I’m looking for the same thing – a tag cloud (along with the search bar)

I know this has been flagged as solved but could someone explain what the following mean in the above discussion:
@dnuttall says “The built-in tag widget” – I don’t seem to have a built in tag widget. Is this theme dependent? I’m using Astra theme. Did this used to be core and then moved out? What tag widget should I use as a plugin? I’ve tried several that don’t show link tags.

Then @dnutall says “expects the wp_posts:post_type value to be “post” or “page” – maybe I would understand this if I had a built-in tag widget. Is this an argument or setting in the cloud widget?

Then @jackdewey says, “The post type for Link Library is link_library_links. So if you can specify a post type in the widget, this should do the trick.” – so now I should look for a tag cloud widget that will allow me to specify the post type for the tags it displays?

I am new to WordPress, as you can tell! – please offer any elaborations that might clarify.

I responded to your query in the other thread.
