I have recently switched to using FooGallery after using another plugin for many years.

I find FooGallery very good with the thumbnail images still looking nice and NOT fuzzy.

But the thing I cannot figure out is when you click on an image in the Gallery (a thumbnail), I want it to open in a lightbox … instead currently it opens up but you CANNOT see the CONTROLS for left and right click easily , especially on a smaller laptop etc.

HOW can I fix the CONTROLS to move the arrow so it is NOT completely on the edge of the computer no matter what device I view it in please?

Do I need to do CSS code ? Is there another method?

And I downloaded the other plugin that is supposed to allow Foogallery to convert to Lightbox but didn’t work.

Thanks in advance for any advice and help.

    Kristin

    hey Kristin,

try install our other plugin called FooBox which adds another lightbox variation with a different layout, which you may prefer. You will have to select it as the lightbox for the gallery and then save the gallery.

I actually tried that plugin also, but couldn’t see the lightbox working at all

    Please advise.

    Hi @kristinubute

Based on your initial message, FooBox, our dedicated lightbox plugin, will work perfectly for you.

Once you have installed and activated FooBox, you won’t need to alter any settings since the default settings will suffice. Simply go to the gallery created in the WordPress admin and, on the “Lightbox” tab, select the “FooBox” option shown in this linked image from the “General” option: image link.

Also, ensure that in the “General” tab, the “Thumbnail Link” option selected is “Full Size Image” as shown in this linked image: image link.

    Thanks!

Thanks I didn’t realise I had to change a setting to Foobox in the gallery.

Got it working. Very much appreciated.

    HI

The lightbox is NOT working on the mobile or Ipad like it is on the PC …

It works better on the PC and laptops.

On Ipad & Pc the controls are up the top of the device very small and hard to see really..

I prefer how to it displays on the PC is HOW it should display on the Ipad & phone.

HOW can I fix this please as the website just went live.

I had used another plugin previously that the lightbox works no issues on Mobile & Ipad so I know it should work on those smaller devices … with the popup and controls easy to see like it is on the pc

    Thanks

ALSO I’ve added some SEO keywords in backend of images in gallery, but they are showing as captions or titles when viewing the images, so I need to hide these urgently also. They are not to be shown when viewing the photos in the gallery.

HOW do I fix this please?

I have added ALT Text to each image, and they are displaying on the Gallery for some reason … Please advise how to fix this.

    Hi?@kristinubute

First, regarding the lightbox on mobile devices, that is its default design and layout when viewed on mobile devices and there is no option to disable this as of this moment.

Secondly, regarding the captions shown on the thumbnails of the gallery, FooGallery does give you an option to select where the caption will be pulled from. Simply go to the “Caption” tab on the gallery you are editing and select another different source, such as “Attachment Caption” and “Attachment Title” options.

Suppose you want to set this up for FooBox too. In that case, this can be done in FooBox Pro, the premium version of FooBox, which has a dedicated “Captions” tab which gives you options to set where exactly the caption and title will be pulled from as shown in the image below, just like FooGallery.

You can actually try out FooBox Pro for free using our free 7-day trial, and no credit card or payment information will be needed to activate it. Here’s a guide on how to activate it: https://fooplugins.com/documentation/general/faq/start-free-trial/

    Thanks.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.
