• Hi all,
I’m struggling with a very base problem and I was asking myself if anyone here could help me on how to find if a template has all the features I need.
First, I’m not sure if this is the right place for this kind of requests but honestly this is the only real forum about WordPress I found online.

My problem is that I’m not able to find specific informations about the templates I wish to use for my website and I prefer to be sure about everything before buying something.

I wish to redesign my personal website and I’m looking for a template with these features:

    1. Allow to insert both multiple images and embed multiple videos on each single page of the portfolio [mandatory].
    2. The grid that shows the icons of each project on the home page should be organised as a puzzel. an example is the one used for this theme: https://devatic.com/?theme=Daisho.
    3. Fully responsive.
    4. Customizable.

The link I posted at point 2 seems interesting, but unfortunately I cannot find any address I could write to ask about the first point.

Can someone give me a hand with this? The template shouldn’t necessarily be that one… it’s just a good example of what I wish to achieve, but every time I take a look online for templates I never find info about point 1 and this is very frustrating.

Again, forgive me if this isn’t the right forum to ask this, but this is the only one I found online. Just in case can someone please point me in the right direction?

    Thank you

  • You have to make the combination of a Theme and one or more plugins. To show posts as a puzzle, you could use WP-Tiles

I tried with the plugins but they work well as fixed elements on the page. At the moment for my personal portfolio I’m using a child theme of “Workality lite”, a free Wp template. I created a child theme and for now it works decently. I’d like to add more “spice” to my website but despite te fact that I created a Child Theme in order to modify some CSS the layout doesn’t seem customizable.

An example is on the home page, where I placed the icons of my works. I like the fact that the works possess a tag and in this way a possible user can show just what he’s interested in… What I don’t like is the layout of the grid… the images are too small and there is too much text. The grid is generated by default in the template and I don’t think that it could be modified in any way.
Do you think is better for me to find a new template and start from scratch or maybe try to modify the template I’m using at the moment?

I’m actually thinking to “update” my actual website recreating those parts that in my opinion don’t work and keeping the main features, in order to avoid to recreate the whole website from scratch.
What I don’t really like at the moment is how the works are organised on the home page: https://www.madquake.net
I’d like to have them showed as here. Probably with Workality Lite I can do the same. I noticed that plugins like Jetpack or WP-Tiles [as staartmees suggested] allow me to tile a gallery. Here the problem is that the actuall gallery is automatically generated by WP as a result of creating a portfolio on the “work” section.

Going on step by step… does someone know if it’s possible to modify how the images of the portfolio coul be shown on the home page? In other terms… is it possible to tile these images?

Thank you so much for your help!
