• Hey, WordPress. I want to build a regular HTML index page that has a small section that will display the two or three most recent posts from my blog.

I’m sure it’s a pretty obvious thing to do, but I’m relatively new to WordPress. Can some one point me towards a tutorial?

    Thank you very much.

    regular HTML

Regular HTML cannot contain dynamic content like that.

I am having the same problem. I have a page I would like to insert the feed on but I don’t know how to do it. I do understand that it will need to use either PHP or Java to do it. Can anyone direct me to a resource that would help?

Thanks, Otto42. In that case, can you point us to a PHP or other resource that will achieve the same thing?

    Use RSS feeds. (search)

I have searched for rss feeds, rss feed reader, rss feed reader javascript, etc… I have found several different scripts that say they work but I haven’t had any success. I have used Javascript RSS Translator (from https://www.puuba.com/translator) but have not been able to make it work. I don’t know much about scripts so I don’t know what to look for exactly. If some one could give a specific suggestion I would be very grateful.

    hi david,
You need to take the feeds from your blogs and direct them into the translator .. or reader ..

Try this reader as it will allow you to create a feed from your blog:
    https://www.feedburner.com

You can generate the RSS feed for your blog from WordPress and then enter the URL of your blog’s RSS into the reader above.

Then take the code generated by the generator above and embed it in your html webpage. The same way you embed any objects from the web such as flash or youtube videos etc.

    Hope this helps!

THANK YOU!! I took a quick look at it and made a feed. I think this is going to do exactly what I need.
