After an update I lost the normal WordPress text/html editor. Instead I got a list of buttoms for diverse codes. How do I get back the normal editor? (WordPress Currently 4.0.)

Just to make clear, this is about the editor for posts and pages.

The line of buttons I have is similar to the text editor at this site.

It didn’t help to re-install WordPress 4.0. Still, in the information about this program the old text editor is shown, so this shouldn’t be it, nor do I have any plugins that should affect the available options on the panel above the editor’s window.

The editor toolbar is of the class “quicktags-toolbar”. Maybe this is the problem? But how to solve it?

    Finally I found the solution:
“Disable the visual editor when writing” had been checked in my profile (I never even opened the profile, so I never did that).
