How to generate sitemap after installation?

  • I installed and activated your plugin, but I don’t see any explicit way to generate the sitemap. When I click on the link here:

    Your sitemaps

    Basic information about all your sitemaps.
    Nothing here… yet! Try submitting your sitemapindex first!

    It just takes me to my site’s home page.

    I do have the Custom Permalinks plugin active on my site (saw that mentioned somewhere in the threads). I’m trying to replace the old Google XML Sitemaps plugin.

    Still haven’t figured this out. Step 4 of your instructions says this:

    4. Build your sitemap for the first time or just submit the sitemapindex to all major search engines.

    But it doesn’t say HOW to build your sitemap.

    To build your sitemap manually you must visit the sitemapindex’s URL, which is located at https://domain.com/sitemapindex.xml. If you only see your homepage, it’s time to go to Settings > Permalinks and press Save changes.

    See if that works.

    It does not work. I use the Custom Permalinks plugin and I saw that someone found a solution to get these to work together but I couldn’t really determine WHAT that solution was.

    Have you tried to clear the cache? I doubt that WP Super Cache caches the sitemapindex page but you should give that a try.

    WP Supercache does not cache sitemap files.

    Same thing here.

    I have flushed the permalinks settings, I have cleared cahche from WP-supercache, I have unticked “Clean unexpected output before sitemap generation?” in BWP sitemap plugin, and I still always get “Nothing here… yet! Try submitting your sitemapindex first!”

    sitemapindex.xml sends to my homepage.

    Another suggestion?
    I am with WP 3.6, WPML, WP supercache …

    It could be an error in your .htaccess file. Could you please send your .htaccess file to me via contact form on betterwp.net? Also you should open a new support topic as per WordPress’s rule ??
