If you’re uploading an image, today, to post originally created in May, then the image will go into the May folder.

    Hello @sterndata, thanks for replied.

The image that I uploaded not related to any post, it should be inside Oct folder.

Many things can be done on an image, perhaps as an featured image for a topic/category, or use for a layout on the homepage.

Is there a technical problem with my WordPress setup?

Did you upload it directly from the media library or did you upload it in connection with a post?

I uploaded directly from media library.

    Hmmm… I can’t reproduce that via

dashboard -> media -> add new

any my file went into 2017/10

That’s great, it should be that way. I don’t know why this happen to my directory.

If I remove installation and do it again, might be resolved but it is very tired process.

Are you sure the data on the server is correct?

    Thread Starter Adi Azudin

    (@adiazudin)

Yup, the data on server are correct, you mean the images? I just noticed today all images since I started the site stored in 2017/05 only.

When trying to access a folder that contains over 1000 images it’s quite time consuming.

What do you have for the directory in settings->media. Also, are there any overrides in wp-config.php?

I have done a new WordPress installation, it’s ok now.
