    Sorry, it’s not the characters I want to restrict but the physical dimensions of the box. I want the box to show only as a single line instead of the large area for 5/6 lines is defaults to.

    ?To change the physical dimension of CF7 forms you would need to edit the CSS style sheets used by your WordPress theme.

    ?This sounds to me like controlling the number of characters. Even though the physical size can be changed, it does not grantee “a single line of text” input.
