My UpdraftPlus backups are supposed to go to my Google drive. I have created a directory there that has public access that will hold the backup files. But the UpdraftPlus backups fail with this error message:

Google Drive: ERROR: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?) (Invalid request (refresh token not present).) (no_refresh_token)

I have tested the directory and it OK to load and delete files. But yet UpdraftPlus cannot store it’s files there. I am running Wiindows 11/64 current version and my WordPress is 6.3.1.

Good luck! I have yet to hear back anything from Google about my multiple requests for review. So my current assessment is this is a non-issue.

I think, it’s because they are huge and as far as they are concerned it’s low level. I have started install the plugins and running the backups but I have not been blocked as yet.

See how much fun it is operating in never-never land!

I think the issue might be with the Redux plugin.

sorry for the dumb question, but what does that plugin do? If I don’t need it I’ll delete it.

Updraft did another backpack last night. And I got 2 more nasty messages from Google.

    It’s this: https://redux.io/

Have Google replied to you at all?

Very interesting – thanks for taking the time to figure this out.

I tried some page edits with Redux disabled, and I didn’t have any problems. So I deleted it. Presumably future backups will not trigger the error message.

No, I never heard anything back from Google, and I don’t expect to. But if I do I’ll let you know what they said.

Do you have any idea why they flagged the Redux content – whatever it is? I don’t recall why I installed it in the first place. It looks like it’s designed for coders, which is something I don’t do with my blog. The whole this is a bit mysterious, but I’m happy you found the solution. Thanks again. ??

I am sorry, I have no idea about how Google decide what is malicious content. The only thing I would suggest is that you check your site for malware as it possible that a hacker has created some kind of backdoor to access your site (it’s probably not this but it would be worth checking just to be on the safe side)

Bad news: Udraft just made a new backup that completed successfully. And about 4 min. later I got another one of those nasty Google messages. But before making the backup I removed the redux add-on from my site.

So it’s not that – it’s something else.

    Talk about deja vu.

    Back to where we started!

It’s really odd that they don’t give you any indication of the problematic file.

Can you do a backup of your just your plugins and put it on some remote storage? (maybe don’t send the backup to remote storage, just do it locally and then upload it to something like WeTransfer). I can then restore it and so some backups from my site.

I don’t see a way to backup only the plugins. There is an option to skip plugins, themes, and/or uploads, but no way to specify backup up only plugins.

You should be able to do this here: https://snipboard.io/7IJ4tc.jpg

Aha! I didn’t realize the 3 dots were clickable. Thanks for pointing that out.

I backed up just the plugins and saved that file on my Google drive where all the regular backups are located. The file is 38.8 MB and I made it publicly sharable. Here is the link:

Let me know if you have any problems retrieving it.

    Hi

Can you use something other than Google Drive: https://snipboard.io/OTb2xF.jpg
