how to find wordpress version?

All it sais on the bottom of the admin panel is the version I *don’t* have, which isn’t helpful at all. I don’t have access to files through ftp so I can’t look in any core files. And it doesn’t say in the source header file (it appears that was taken out). I deactivated the “hide WP version” plugin and it still doesn’t say in the code.

Is there anyplace actually in the backend panel that WordPress still tells you what version you are using? Or does it only tell you to upgrade?
