    FYI and to save you some time.

    In case you registered with bit.ly via your Twitter ID – your userID of bit.ly is NOT your Twitter ID. You find out your working bit.ly userID for “wp to twitter” e.g. via your public timeline in bit.ly …

    Look into the URL, thats similar to this: https://bitly.com/u/o_XxxxxXkXXx – the last part is your bit.ly UserID: o_XxxxxXkXXx

    Same applies probably in case you registered via Facebook.
