How to find missing plugins?

    I am trying to help a friend re-install their wordpress site after their let their hosting expire and all the data is hence lost.
    Backups were there for the web files and the database but there seems to be no backup for the plugins.

    How do I find out what plugins the site was using before?

  • So, in your backup, the folder /wp-content/plugins/ is empty?

    And what’s the website URL?

    In the backup, the plugins folder itself is not there.
    The website is: https://www.crocusessentials.ca/

    I was thinking to look for some versions of your website on https://web.archive.org, but it’s not indexed there ??

    In this case I think you should re-install the plugins you might find useful now.

    So there is no way to find out which plugins were installed previously? maybe through the backed up database?

    If you have the database, look in wp_options for “active_plugins”.

    Yes! I found “active_plugins”.
    Probably a dumb question but can I download it or ??

    download it? It just tells you which plugins were active. If you want to download those plugins, you need to go to wp.org/plugins and download them. (Is that what you’re asking?)

    nvm please go back in time and delete that from your memory as I’m not sure what I was thinking.
