• Hello,

    Wondering if someone could help.

I have recently installed the Karma theme. However, the theme is not working properly on my website.

I have contacted the TrueTheme support but they answered that my issue is not related to their theme so they cannot help. According to them, I must have added some HTML coding to my website prior to installing Karma and this code is not compatible.

I have not entered HTML code, I know nothing about HTML coding… However, Artisteer/WPML support teams may have done so a long time ago, when I was having layout issues caused by WPML not being compatible with my previous Artisteer theme.

Basically, settings entered into Karma set-up are not taken into account. Here are some examples:
    – Text on all pages is smaller, does not have the right font nor the right color.
    – Headings are not showing in the right format.
    – Lists are not showing in the right format (text too small, wrong color, wrong font).
    – Text on boxes is not showing in the right format

Could someone tell me where to look for the HTML code to delete and what to look for?

Many thanks in advance and have a nice day. ??
    Sylvie

  • No idea about other web browsers, but if you have latest Firefox browser, do following :
Select the text (any single word),right click on it and click Inspect Element. An inspector box will be open at bottom.
Now, under rules there will be CSS properties related to text (that you selected). Try changing values and you can see immediate(temporary) effect. You can also see the line number of css code, so you can easily find the code in your css file and edit it.

Thanks WhiteScreenofDeath. I do have the latest Firefox browser but unfortunately, I cannot select any text on the related pages.

Agree that it sounds more like CSS – but you should not modify any theme code directly – your changes will be lost when the the theme is updated. Use a child theme or custom CSS.

Generally, CSS should be theme-specific so hard to know what they mean about old theme code being applied to a new theme – that shouldn’t happen. Do you have any caching on your site or server? That might cause that.

One other thing to try is to deactivate ALL plugins and switch to a default theme to see if the problem persists there.

Hi WPyogi. I am using a cache plugin (W3 Total Cache). I have tried deactaviting it yesterday but didn’t change anything.

You need to figure out how to clear that cache (that’s not the same as deactivating it).

Indeed, website formatting looks better when using Twenty Fourteen, even with all plugins being activated.

Then something sounds weird with Karma theme – or maybe try it again now. Make sure you’ve cleared your browser cache.

I did reactivate Karma and issue is still there. Even when I create a brand new page, formatting is not right.

Well… I guess I will have to manage to get the True Theme support team to accept to help (they don’t even reply anymore)… grr…

    Thanks a lot WPyogi.
