How to filter events using category drop-down

    Hi,
    How to display event category in a drop-down list. While filtering the event category from the drop-down list, it should display a particular event.
    I have done a lot of r&d on event manager plugin, but I could not find any drop-down select box to display in the front-end of the website.
    Could you please help me out with this issue.

    hi,

    you can try to use shortcode [event_search_form] or see settings under Events > Settings > Pages > Event List/Archives > Show events search =Yes

    Hi..
    Thank you for the reply..Show events search =Yes is for the search events. But I want to filter the events by category using select drop-down. Is this possible in this plugin..if not, are we able to customize this?

    sorry for the confusion but the events search form can filter events by category; can you give us more info about this please?

    Hi,
    In my events page, I have got all the events displayed with their respective category. My requirement is “above the events list, I need to have one drop-box select form. On click of select drop-down box, all the categories should be displayed and on-click of particular category the events need to get filtered.”

    Am I right in thinking you’re wanting to add a sort of live filtering of the events list by category, rather than to just create a new search listing based on a category?

    yes exactly!! in a select drop-down

    Filtering a list that’s already been generated from search results isn’t something that can be done out-of-the-box.
