how to extract the meta data saved in custom fields?

Hi there!
I use a premium invoice pdf plugin and need help with the extraction of your custom fields (specificly the VAT field) which is required by law in my country to add to invoices.
Right now I use your plugin to let users add vat to myaccount and also to checkout. I see those savings in the account details but i cannot seem to user your Meta name.
I tried pretty much everything and it doesn’t seem to work. please let me know.
The invoice-guys said the following:
“they should have some example code that could be called with just order id parameter to retrieve this data (this is common for users of custom fields plugins to be able to extract the data with code, so this should be possible somehow).
Then, using this it will be possible to create the custom macro for our plugin.”
