I am moving my website and need to export all my orders and products in a readable file like excel or plain text (products).

I was able to download customers, but there is no such an option for orders, which is unusual.

could you please advise. By the way, I don’t want to install any special plugins or extensions. This should be a straightforward process just like with the customers.

I need to this in the next few days so would appreciate your advice asap.

    Hi @magicpowers,

Thank you for reaching out! You can export your orders into a readable file like a CSV directly from your WooCommerce dashboard. Here’s how:

    1. Navigate to WooCommerce → Reports → Orders.

    2. Use the Export CSV option (as shown in the screenshot: https://snipboard.io/FMntLG.jpg).

This will generate a CSV file containing your order data, which can be opened in Excel or a text editor.

If you have any further questions or need clarification, feel free to let us know!

    hi @mahfuzurwp

thanks. I didn’t look in Reports – now I have found it.

But this exercise has revealed a serious error (bug) in your plugin.

The report for this year shows the earnings of $1122.31 in February 2024, with 73 items purchased and 59 orders placed which is completely wrong as I had ZERO sales in that month. The spike is in February 21-22 when my new host and I ran a series of tests on my products as they were not linked properly to the Store after my hosting transfer. They were using a coupon covering the price to avoid having to purchase the products during those tests.

The report then shows $272.79 in sales in April 2024 and $275.97 in May 2024 – while I had NO orders and NO sales in those months at all, and nothing was even testing then. And there is no record of those sales in my ONLY linked payment gate Square. Then a a couple of smaller amounts in September and November 2024 – when again. I had ZERO orders and sales.

The Report also shows $1,888.92 worth of coupons used – which is NONSENSE.

    How can you explain this?

So either there is serious bug in your Reports OR someone has hacked to /siphoned my products order forms or coupons and were selling them on their website. There is no other explanation that I can see – unless you can offer one.

Now, if a coupon is used to download the product (all my products are virtual downloads) with nothing to pay – surely this transaction would NOT show as a sale in the report – correct?

and even if the free coupon use was still recorded as Order in the Report (but in Orders itself which is VERY suspicious) – the total amount would be much smaller

    So – in summary:
1, There are no sales in ORDERS in these periods
    2. There are no sales in CUSTOMERS in these periods
    3. However the REPORT – ORDERS tab shows the sales quoted above.

Please note that I have now removed my products to avoid any further fraud – If that’s what’s going on here. but if there is a log of ALL transactions and activities in my Woocommerce for the whole year it should give u the answer. Also, my domain is already redirecting elsewhere so we can only look in historical logs and data.

I look forward to your explanation.

I don’t think I will be using Woocommerce on my new website. I don’t trust it anymore.

    Hello magicpowers,

    Thank you for your reply.

Since this is a new issue, I recommend you create a new topic.
You may link this thread to the new topic as a reference.

Share screenshots of the reports highlighting the incorrect data in the new topic.
You can use https://snipboard.io to share them.

This will help me investigate and determine what might have caused the issue.

Meanwhile, I suggest reviewing this guide on report terms.
This will help clarify how WooCommerce records transactions.

WooCommerce is a powerful platform used by millions of businesses worldwide.
These discrepancies likely stem from specific issues that can be resolved.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    hi @mahfuzurwp @doublezed2

yes I should have created a new topic, apology. I can transfer this part of the discussion to a new topic if you like.
The first issue has been resolved.
I’m not sure how the screenshots of what I can see showing exactly what I have described will help find the cause of this discrepancy, as the information will be exactly the same.

So first I will read your linked guide on how reports work, as the reason could be there – in which case the only real issue would be the confusing design and labelling of the reports.

I will come back to you on that.

    thanks

    Hi @magicpowers

I understand your concern regarding the inaccuracies in the reports. Checking out the guide on report terms is a great first step.

If after reviewing it the numbers still don’t add up, please create that new topic with the screenshots and any reply from this thread. Even if they show what you’ve described, they can be helpful for a detailed review. That way, we can then take a closer look together to find out what’s causing these issues.

Also just to confirm, are you viewing these reports from WooCommerce’s built-in analytics tool or using a third-party analytics plugin? Looking forward to your response.

    Hi @reynierc

I have decided to leave it. It’s most likely the way your reports are designed.

    thanks

    Hi @magicpowers,

I’m glad the report guide helped you understand the structure of WC reports. Thank you for letting us know you’ve decided to leave it.

    hi @mosesmedh

to be honest, I haven’t had the time to check your guide. I just suspect that this is the case.

Either way, I’m closing down my website with all its plugins and moving my business activities elsewhere where I won’t be using WooCommerce, so have decided not to spend any more time on investigating this issue.

Thank you for your help and wishing you a wonderful New Year!
