    Hi there,

Suddenly my SimpleBanner at the top of my homepage doesn’t have the right font or styles anymore. It does on every other page, just not home. When I deactivate Autoptimize, this fixes the problem.

I tried putting “simple-banner” into the Exclude CSS and Exclude JS areas, this didn’t help (when I right click and hit “inspect” on the SimpleBanner, that’s the code associated with it, “simple-banner” with the hyphen).

How can I get Autoptimize to leave the banner alone?

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

First and foremost try to identify what is breaking that banner by just disabling CSS or JS or HTML or Image optimization (incl. lazyload). Based on that we can see what the next steps need to be ??

I unchecked the Optimize Javascript Code, saved and cleared caches, no change. Then I re-checked that one, and unchecked Optimize CSS, saved and cleared caches, no change. I re-checked the box again to set things back to normal. I already never had Optimize HTML checked.

Now the SimpleBanner has completely disappeared off my homepage entirely.

*UPDATE: I deactivated the banner and re-activated it, and now it’s back. But it’s still got the wrong styles.

hmmm … can you disable “aggregate CSS” for now?

    Sure, I’ve now disabled it

when loading the homepage with a random query string attached the simple banner seams to render correctly, implying there is a page cache to clear somewhere @thedetoureffect, can you do so?

    Ok I purged cache again.

you might need to clear your browser cache on your end to see this though ??

So am I allowed to re-enable “aggregate CSS” or is that going to reintroduce the problem again? I don’t want to change my settings

you can try, but it might re-introduce the problem ?? maybe disable “also aggregate inline CSS” if it does and see to what extent that helps (always clearing page caches after each change)?

Will that affect lots of other things on my site? I have Autoptimize for site speed purposes, so if the “aggregate CSS” and “inline CSS” functions are helping me in different places throughout my site, I don’t want to disable them site-wide just to fix this one banner issue.

Is there a way to tell Autoptimize to exclude everything to do with Simplebanner, but keep its normal processes elsewhere? My host told me to put “wp-content/plugins/simple-banner/” in the “exclude” areas in Autoptimize but that didn’t seem to work.

the “also aggregate inline CSS”-setting normally does not have a significant perf. impact no ??

My host told me to put “wp-content/plugins/simple-banner/” in the “exclude” areas in Autoptimize but that didn’t seem to work.

that indeed _should_ work, maybe it did not due to the page being cache in the page cache and/ or browser cache?

Alright, I’ll go ahead and mark resolved. Thank you!
