How to exclude sidebars from a specific page

  • HI,

    I have 2 issues:

    1.
    I am trying to exclude the side bars from my custom 404 error page.

    Is this possible? Do I do this within the css of the theme?

    2.
    I currently have added the whole source code from the custom 404 error page, and when I check the link for 404 error it shows a page within a page.

    I want my custom 404 to be basically one big picture that links back to home page.

    But what I have now is a whole picture of a page within a page. Looks wrong.

    I need to get rid of side bars form page and only show image for 404 page not a picture of the image and side bars and header.

    Any help would be appreciated.
