When I am trying to analyse the reason for poor LCP on a lot of webpages, I get “img.attachment large size-large.wp-post-image.lazyloaded” message from Lighthouse (see Screenshot)

At the same time, when I check plugin settings, I see there are 2 useful options I can use.
1). Lazy load exlusions – I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO PUT HERE
2). Lazy-load from nth image – IF I ENTER 1 HERE (as it’s a featured image and will always be on top, WILL THIS RESOLVE MY PROBLEM?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

try excluding wp-post-image and if that does not work try lazyload from nth (the exact number depends on what comes before the featured image; if you have a logo or images in the header you would want those excluded as well).

    hope this helps,
    frank

    Hi Frank,

I have tried using both the options however I am still getting the same message on Lighthouse and LCP still seems to show the lazy load as the culprit. The page that I need help with is https://www.topbest7.in/best-tea-infuser-in-india/ and FYI there are several pages with the same error.

Just so you know I have rechecked results after clearing the cache too. AT this point of time, I have updated “1” in the Lazy-load from nth image field and I don’t have logo or images in the header, so featured image is the first image.

Also, the message on Incognito says ““img.attachment large size-large.wp-post-image.iscached.lazyloaded” (The word Cached was not displayed in the 1st error).

Could you take a look and advise please.

you have to clear the page cache after making a change to AO settings, that should do the trick ??

    Hi Frank,

Like I said I have retried with both the options after clearing the caches already , LCP still shows the same message on Google lighthouse and other speed test tools.

using https://www.topbest7.in/best-tea-infuser-in-india/ I still to the image being lazyloaded, but using https://www.topbest7.in/best-tea-infuser-in-india/?cachebuster=somerandomstringshere I did not (but I do now), hence my assumption there still was a page cache interfering woodstock0137 ??

what are your current lazyload settings?

I have lazy load settings enabled through AO plugin, see the screenshot here for settings.

Other than AO plugin, I think only WordPress 5.5 enables lazy load and I do not know where to find that in the Admin Panel.

    Looking forward to your help.

can you also exclude wp-post-image from being lazyloaded and/ or setting “from nth” to 2?

    Thread Starter woodstock0137

    (@woodstock0137)

I have done both as suggested, see here to check.

But still, the LCP hovers to the image with some other message this time (see the screenshot pls) –

    well, as you can see in the (below screenshot of the) HTML source the image is not lazyloaded any more;

so even if still the LCP element the time it occurs should be better then when it was still lazyloaded. there likely is not much more you can do there ??

Thanks Frank and is the combination of wp-post-image in exclusion field and 2 in “Lazy-load from nth image” correct and should I let this be?

I *think* you can choose one of the 2, you don’t need both (but it does not really matter) ??
