• Dear plug in maker

I don’t know if this has been discussed before, but my subscription and Facebook widgets on the right sidebar are greyed out(won’t load) if I enable “Force JavaScript in <head>?” option in the settings. So what are the scripts I need to add to the exception list below at the settings? ->”Exclude scripts from Autoptimize”

Thank you in advance for help and a good plug in.

    Afternoon @kauno ??

If I enable “Force JavaScript in <head>?” option in the settings

from a performance point of view it is better NOT to force JS in head

So what are the scripts I need to add to the exception list

That depends on which plugin (or your theme) is responsible for those widgets. Might be easier if you provide me with an URL so I can have a look ??

    Hi Frank

thanks for getting back so shortly. I use Jetpack and Colorlib theme. At the moment only the first boxes from top down are ticked for HTML and Javascript options(default?). CSS Options have first three boxes ticked, otherwise default. But I noticed my site size went down and speed improved when using the Force Javascript option in question(but with the consequences of loosing those widgets). However, it also gave more yellow points in some test benches like Pingdom.

Yesterday, and it’s still on going, I had another issues related to some image renaming and replacing that messed a bit those test reading of which I made separate support request to respective plug in maker, but those are not related to this issue which was happening already before that happened. But if you have any ideas you are free to take a look those posts.

morning @kauno; I had a look at your site with and without Autoptimize (adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL disables AO for that request) and in both cases I do see the subscription widget (“SUBSCRIBE VIA EMAIL”) but no Facebook widget? The fact the FB-widget doesn’t show when AO is deactivated implies something else is going on there?

Hmm.. that sounds strange. I don’t know what to do. I may have to let it be as it is. Thank you anyway for taking a look.

Well, can you force the FB widget to appear with or without AO?

Sorry for the late reply, but the Facebook widget works fine as long as I don’t select that “Force JavaScript in <head>?” function. If I select that the subscription and Facebook likes won’t show up. Or the subscription text is greyed out and Facebook won’t come up at all.

but why would you want to “force JS in <head>”? ??
