How to evaluate wordpress site quality after yo uhired someone to make it?

    what are the tools to use, to check if person that you hired to create you wordpress site did an ok job?

    W3 validator?
    mobile friendly validator?

    What else?

    Just something that you could use to check if you did not get a crappy website you paid for.

  • I would suggest to run GTMetrix once your theme/site is done. Optimization should be a priority when developing/making a site, because it has a great impact in SEO ranking.

    Ask the developer to put a live demo site that you can see, and then grab the url and run a GTMetrix

    By how can I communicate I meant prior to the building the site.
    Something like:
    “hello developer, I expect you to build me a site that will get at least A score on GTmetrix. Are you skilled enough to do it or should I look for another developer?”

    The thing is that it is likely developer would not know if he could reach the score (if he never tested his sites there).

    Any other tips? I remember 10 years ago I would say to developer – make sure website passes w3 validator with no errors.
    That was a clear benchmark to set to him.

    What about nowadays?
