How to enter a link on a clickable image

It used to be very simple to enter a link that is not visible to users, but rather it’s in a clickable image that takes them directly to a new page. I can’t seem to do this anymore after the most recent WP update (which I do NOT love by the way). Now, the link will only present underneath the photo. How can I fix this?

Also does anyone else share my feelings about this most recent update? I thought the last one was way more user-friendly than what we’re working with now. It’s overcomplicated, and requires extra navigation now to my most commonly used features. Annoying.
