• Hi! I have set up a WordPress-powered blog and I wonder what to do in order to let users comment whithout requiring my approving their comments. If they post something silly, I’ll edit. I don’t want to have to approve each and every new comment! As far as now, comments are queued until moderated ??

This question is likely to have been asked here yet, but I did not find it. Please forgive me if so. I’d be very grateful to you if you could help.

    Thanx in advance.

  • Go to Options -> Discussion; all the options to adjust should be there.

In the Dashboard | Options | Discussion you’ll see a section titled “Before a Comment Appears” with these three options:

    # An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below)
    # Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
    # Comment author must have a previously approved comment

You can check or uncheck whichever you like.

    Thank you for answering.

The problem is that “An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below)” is unchecked and the settings are updated.

Still, comments posted do not appear until moderated ???

    Any idea please?

Ok! It’s fixed. It was apparently a mere question of refreshing. Thank you very very much again for your unvaluable help.

    Good bye!

Does a previously approved comment author, also have editing capabilities? Will the comment author need to register as a User in order to be able to edit previous comments?
