    Loving your Blocksy theme! ??

Apologies for the basic-sounding question, but I’ve googled, and searched this WP forum and your support docs, and still not found anything close to an answer.

Simply, how do we enable RTL (Right-to-left) language globally, in the Blocksy WP theme ?

I hope you have a simple guide for us newbies. ??

Thanks, and keep up the great work. ??

  • Hi @photomaldives

Unfortunately this is something that you do not “enable” inside a theme. The RTL support (if the theme supports it, which Blocksy does) is automatically enabled when you switch to an RTL language. That’s the way how WordPress works like, so you simply need to switch to an RTL language and everything should come into play automatically.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks.

Wow! Thanks for your quick reply, Eduard @cteduard

So that explains why I am unable to find any help on this! So armed with this info, googling was much easier.

For anyone else searching, this might help >
WP Admin – User – set your admin language (to English).
WP Admin – General – set site settings to your language. [*]

    Screenshot example from WP-StackExchange.

NB: Be sure to clear down all your caches – browser, WP plugins, host server.

There is no need for any rtl switching/testing plugins, as these look old and unsupported.

[*] My usage case is a bit more complicated, as my front-end native language is not supported/offered by WP. So I also use the WP plugin Use Any Font

    Hi @photomaldives

You’re very welcome, glad I could help! ??

Have an amazing rest of the week!

Thank you so much for your input. This has helped me a lot with an Arabic site I’m currently working on.

    Kind regards,

    Hey, you’re most welcome, @mohammedkadhim .

    Hello @photomaldives,

Regrettably, enabling RTL (Right-to-Left) support in a theme is not a manual process. If the theme, such as Blocksy, supports RTL, it is automatically activated when you switch to an RTL language. This behavior is inherent to WordPress, so all you need to do is switch to an RTL language, and the necessary adjustments should take effect automatically.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

    Thank you.
