  • Hi,

No, there is not a way to enable live traffic with Falcon. We disable live traffic for performance enhancement when Falcon is on. Your site is still being monitored and alerts still work but we’re not writing live traffic to the database.

    Thanks,
    Brian

Thank you for your reply, but wassup live stats is working still and dose not affect performance? I was just hopping to reduce my plugins count. Hopefully you can get them to work together.

Its a trade off. The problem with leaving it on is that to display all that we display in live traffic is calling out to do an ip lookup for each to populate the city/country information. Live traffic os meant to be a troubleshooting tool that assists in figuring out what needs to be blocked (like ip addresses and countries, etc). Its not meant to run all the time. You can always run basic caching which will work with live traffic.

I’m not sure all the features and what not for wassup live stats or how it works. I do know that if its calling out to do lookups on visitors then your site is taking a hit. How much of a hit is anyone’s guess, but it will be there. Also note that their plugin page says it doesn’t work with caching plugins.

ok thank you, I would still love to have a way to turn it on and off without tuning off the caching.

I’ll ask the dev team to consider it on todays call. I can’t promise anything but I do promise to let them know you have. We take all suggestions from our users seriously.

    Thanks

Thank you, and thanks for the consideration.

sorry to piggyback the thread but the conversation seems finished and relevant.

i am thinking of using the falcon engine, but last week i had 60 failed login attempts in about an hour. being able to see and block the IPs was invaluable.

to clarify what you’ve said – if i use the falcon engine, is there still a way to see that information when it’s in use?

Please do not piggyback on resolved threads – that’s not a good way to use these forums and the people in this thread probably don’t want to get emails regarding your conversation.
