    I tested Gutenberg using 4.9.8 to test PHP code embeds.

    It turns this : =>

    Into this : =&gt

    It also wraps the PHP code in HTML tags like this :

    <!-- wp:code -->
    <pre class="wp-block-code"><code>

    When you switch back to classic, the HTML tags remain wrapping the messed up PHP code.

    Solution : I assume enabling the code highlighter in Gutenberg will fix this?
