How to edit the header.php field

    I have very basic knowledge of wordpress & I use to be able to find the editor button under appearance now i can not. I have tried all other avenues before posting.

    Can someone please tell me how i can edit the code step by step where to find the code.

    If it is not done in the wordpress dashboard where is everyone doing it?
