This post is not a question – but rather an answer to a question which I’ve had for the past several weeks – and was not able to find a workable solution until today. So, I am hoping that this will help someone else finding themselves in a similar situation.

To begin with – let me say that I’ve found with the little bit of experience I’ve accumulated in my work with this particular theme (Enigma – the free version) and other pro versions for which I paid the purchase price (Enigma Premium Advanced & also Enigma Parallax) – that the free version – although labeled as having fewer features – turns out that (at least for my own personal preference in the website I’m currently setting up for a client) the free version of Enigma actually has better feature setup or availability than does the pro version.

It is a personal preference, perhaps – but based upon live-results of the appearance and reaction of the responsive layout.

Actually – perhaps two of the more important points that have me preferring the free version over the Pro version – is not the cost involved – but the results of the appearance and interaction ability – as the free version allows for the background image to appear all across the page (not blocking it out like it does with the pro version) and also entails the option for the callout action button in the footer area for the set home page.

This last step was a real obstacle for me for the longest time (at least for the past 2 weeks). I had searched all the forums for advice concerning on how to program the link for this button – but no advice was available anywhere. And I tried several different options myself – but nothing worked.

Exploring the option of the Enigma Premium theme – I purchased and downloaded it – but the WordPress system would not do the upload/install of the theme template. Searching the WordPress forums, I found advice that it would be best to upload manually via FTP directly to my hosting cpanel – which I did. But it didn’t appear in my cpanel.

Finally – after much searching for more help or advice on this – I opted to once again log on to my hosting cpanel – and created the folder for the theme – and did the manual upload myself (without ftp, but a direct connection on my browser to the cpanel files manager section) – creating each folder and subfolders, and then manually uploading every single file to where it belongs.

Once this was complete, then it showed up on my WordPress dashboard as another installed theme, then I activated it and began to try to set up my client’s website according to this theme (Enigma Premium) – but it simply did not respond with the appearance that the client liked from the Enigma theme – the background image would continue to be blocked – in other words simply not showing up behind the main content of pages, as it had on the Enigma theme).

Even the footer section on this theme (Enigma Premium) did not offer a dedicated action callout option as it had on the regular Enigma theme.

Ended up re-activating the regular Enigma theme once more – and played around a bit first with the footer text – where you can designate a link for the ‘designed by’ section – set that to re-direct the visitor to automated email response option to the client’s main email address. Good.

Did this by setting the link to: “mailto:[email protected]

Applied the same logic then to setting the redirection information to the footer callout button (this is accessed through the Customize panel).

Went to the option for footer callout button – set the link to read:
    https://www.website.com/desiredpage”

I hope that this is helpful to someone…will be making a more descriptive tutorial on this topic – complete with images and directives.
