How to edit the footer, add a menu?

Here are solutions for your issues:

2. Please note that the theme was designed with the menu in sidebar only. Also, please note that I do not provide support for theme modifications. https://support.webmandesign.eu/support-policy-and-terms-of-service/ You can modify/add a header menu into the theme header using action hooks. But maybe the easier way would be to place a “Menu” widget into “Header Widgets” area. Please note that you will most likely need to style this menu with custom CSS for your needs though.

If you wish to remove the footer line, just delete the below lines from the footer file and change the false to true.

wp_footer();

wmhook_content_bottom();

			wmhook_content_after();

wmhook_footer_before();

			wmhook_footer_top();

			wmhook_footer();

			wmhook_footer_bottom();

			wmhook_footer_after();

Then in this line:

if ( ! apply_filters( 'wmhook_disable_footer', false ) ) {

change the “false” to “true”.

Then add whatever you desire to the footer by typing below the closing body tag:

Thanks for solution, but this is not advisable. You should never edit the theme core files. If you want to disable the footer alltogether, just hook onto the wmhook_disable_footer filter via your child theme like so:

add_filter( 'wmhook_disable_footer', '__return_true' );

But all of the above are actually an action hooks, so you can change them to your needs easily via a child theme.

I edited my child theme. Sorry, but I do not know what “hook onto” means. The code you provided should be placed where in my child theme’s footer? Anywhere or at the bottom???

I do not wish to disable the footer, but edit it. How would I do that?

Never mind. I see that you just changed the “false” to “true”.
I also read the above to the other person where you will not help us edit footers in your free themes. I looked for a pro theme for Receptor, but didn’t find one. Too bad!

The code I’ve provided should be placed into your child theme’s functions.php file.

Hooks are a bit more advanced coding staff in WordPress. Please read https://www.webmandesign.eu/manual/receptar/#hooks for some more info.

If you want to edit the footer, you have multiple options. The easiest is to redefine the receptar_footer() function via your child theme’s functions.php file.

I think I’ve never said I won’t help anybody to edit footer. I provide help mostly via https://support.webmandesign.eu and I have actually linked to the solution above on how to edit the footer. Please read my replies thoroughly.
