  • Just to be clear.

    From your dashboad, in Settings>Reading
under front page settings you have selected “A Static Page”
and chosen Front Page: Home (or some other page you have chosen like homepage”
    and Posts Page: Blog

I don’t think you have done that because when I click on your Blog tab I do not go to a new page.

So, your Front Page should be a page you created, whatever you named it, you can go to that page and add a “featured image” even if the content is blank. That way an image will show up when you post to Facebook.

As far as the blog goes, I am guessing that you do not have a page named Blog or that you don’t have Post Page : Blog selected?

Please let me know if that works or if I can clarify.

    Hey Jenkehl,

    Thanks for your reply!

It is indeed set to a static page which is then “Blog”.
Just to be clear as well, there are 2 options, front page & posts page when choosing a static page.

I have the “Front Page” set to “Blog” which is a page I have created and there is nothing selected in the “Posts” selection.

This is because I use a plugin that allows me to show my blog posts on any page and therefore there is a shortcode in the “Blog” page to display posts.

I do have a page called “Blog” and it’s slug is “/blog”.

“/blog” has a featured image but the problem is that people will not link to /blog, they will simply link to the root url which I do not have control over apparently!
