• Forgive me, I’m new to WordPress. =)

When editing a page in the admin area, is the only way to do it using the “Edit HTML” button? If so, why does that SUCK SO BAD?! It changes all of my code to what it THINKS I wanted to do, and it doesn’t save formatting. SURELY there’s a better way to edit HTML on pages?

I can edit my index page manually and upload the php file myself, but am I correct in saying that the pages don’t have php files?

  • Have you tried turning off the visual rich editor in Options –> Writing?

    … wow …

    Thanks Dnusim. =)

i am a dummy to i guess.. cause i cant find the visual rich editor that your talking about???

in options->writing-> nothing called visual rich editor

If it looks like MS Word… then it is the Visual – and you should have two tabs on top: Code/Visual.

If you don’t see all those – be happy!

And next time don’t post on 10 months old topics: the WP version is very different since then!

okay thanks i have found the new version button…

its under users and the first checkbox..:D

but still i see no html coding??

all i want to do is write some simple html code do i really have to go to the database to put this in??

If you can’t get the WP code editor to work you could try Window Live Writer. You can use it in the HTML mode and post right to your WP blog.
