I have Wp installed on my localhost. I am having some problems getting the site to work on the hosting server, but that is another story.

Long story short, I went into the localhost dashboard and changed the Site Address to the live address, from https://localhost/wordpress. Since I am having problems with my hosted site working, now I cannot log into my local dashboard becuase of the setting change. So, how, or where do I go to change the site address setting back to localhost? Perhaps there is there a file that I can edit?

Please help. I am desperate. Thanks.

    Ted

  • Change the urls back. See Changing_The_Site_URL for details of how to do this correctly.

    Esmi,

Thank you so much for the information. I used the wp_options table in the DB to make the change. Now I can login to my localhost Dashboard.

With that out of the way, now I must find the problem with the hosting side. When I go to my site: https://www.stpaulsmassillon.org, I am getting a page that only shows my navigation, not the front page. Not good. Here is what I did:

Migrated the WP files to the root directory on the host
Created the DB and imported the SQL database from my computer
Modified the wp_config file to match the new DB.

I have been unable to log into the WP dashboard.

Now a thought, do I have to change the URL for the site1 in the database like I did before. Right now it is https://localhost/wordpress. Should it be my site address in order to run?

I appreciate all your help. This should be easy, but somewhere I missing something.

    Thanks Esmi.

    You need to review Moving_WordPress.

    Hi Esmi,

I finally got the site live. I made the changes to the wp_options table on the host server, to reflect my site URL. That made it happen.

Thanks so much for all your help. You got me over the hump.

Have a great day. I know I will now!

    Glad I could help ??
