    Hi there,

I am trying to setup up the automated posting to a freshly created Facebook page (I am completely new to FB), with Jetpack in the first place.

It does work, but I find the way Jetpack published the WP-post on Facebook a bit weird. With the title and text as ?Facebook entry? and attached to the FB post then again the whole post.

Really strange. Is there a workaround? Or what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for any hints!

Ah, ok, stupid me, seems to be the insertion of the URL, which adds the ?screenshot? of the page the URL is pointing to…

Hmm… but still I wonder: The WordPress-to-Facebook post as displayed on the Jetpack site doesn’t display a link and thus the content of that link below in the post:

    Why is that?

Hi there – and sorry for the delay!

Publicize does have some ability to make the post more customizable for you. You can see a cheat sheet my colleague made of how to make your Posts look like you want here:
    https://a.mikey.link/1l6WZ/3QZpzCMK

Using the Title, Custom Message, and Excerpt, you can customize the way any posts get shared to Facebook. If you don’t change the default custom message, it will post a longer excerpt of your post content.

The WordPress-to-Facebook post as displayed on the Jetpack site doesn’t display a link and thus the content of that link below in the post:

That is an old screenshot, and Facebook has made changes to how posts display in the meantime. I’ve made a note to update that image with one that’s more up to date. Thanks for pointing that out!

I hope that clarifies things! Marking this as resolved as you can use the Custom Message to customize the post for Facebook.

Thanks so much. Yes, partly I figured that out meanwhile. Again, new to Facebook as I am, stumbling here and there. But thanks for the hint again! Like Jetpack from what I’ve seen until now!
