I feel like a total dunce, but I just cannot figure out how to work this plugin.

I have installed it and entered my books using the Totally Booked -> Add New Books.

Now…how do I view them? I do not want this to be a sidebar thing. I want to have an archive page that shows all the books, with their image, a blurb, and buttons to purchase. I can only find shortcodes that pull out one specific genre or one specific book. I want to see ALL the books.

Am I just misunderstanding how this plugin works?

  • You automatically have one at yoururl/books/ ??

Hm, didn’t see that in the documentation – did I miss it somewhere?

In any case, I would like my shortcode to be “bookshop” instead, but when I set this up in the settings as the book shortcode, the url/bookshop shows as a 404 error, and /url/bookshop/specificbook also shows as a 404 now. Possible bug?

    Hi Snowbelly,
What do you see when you go to /url/books ? Is that also generating a 404 error for you?

If you could provide the url for review here, that would help us troubleshoot.

    Cheering you on,

Here’s the site I am working on:

    https://tudorrobins.ca

Right now, under Totally Booked –> Update Settings –> Advanced Options –> Books Archive Slug, I have entered “bookshop” for the new slug.

    Now, if you go to:
    https://tudorrobins.ca/bookshop
    You get a 404 error.

    If you go to:
    https://tudorrobins.ca/books
    You’ll see the regular archive.

But, if you click on a book title, it will try to point to “bookshop”, like this:
    https://tudorrobins.ca/bookshop/objects-in-mirror
And will give a 404 error.

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to get back to you sooner. It looks like you have moved on from our plugin.

Let me know if you were still willing to give it a go.

    Cheers
    Ben
