    Hi Folks,

By law, in Canada, the GST number (a 9-ish digit alpha number ex: 8993943-002) is required to appear on invoices.

I searched everywhere and can’t find where we can set this so it appears on invoices.

Where would such configuration exist in Woo?

    Cheers!

    Hello @gillesgagnon,

    Thank you for reaching out!

By law, in Canada, the GST number (a 9-ish digit alpha number ex: 8993943-002) is required to appear on invoices.

Sorry, but I’m not sure if I get the full picture. WooCommerce doesn’t have a GST field or an invoicing feature by default.

Could you please share more details/screenshots on what you’re trying to achieve? :?)

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, here are a few free options:

It would be great if you can attach a copy of your system status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support” (after you scroll down a bit)”. Once done, please paste it here in your reply or via a text-sharing service like https://gist.github.com/.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

HI @babylon1999, thanks for chiming in. and for the links.

I don’t have a screenshot to give as I don’t know where the number would go. Let’s see if I can simplify my question:

How can I add the HST number (Business Registration ID) on an invoice?

    I hope this helps.

    Hi @gillesgagnon,

To add the HST number (Business Registration ID) on an invoice, you will need to use a plugin as WooCommerce does not support this functionality by default.

One such plugin is the WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips, or PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce. After installing and activating this plugin, go to the settings page, and there, you will find an option to add your own custom fields. You can add your HST number here, and it will appear on your invoices.

I hope this clarifies your concern. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks @shameemreza,! Much appreciate your willing to help ??

Yes, I did come across that plugin but it didn’t make sense that Woo wouldn’t be able to to this.

So there’s no way to add text of any sort on an woo invoice without a plugin?

    Hi korg007

    Thank you for your reply.

That is correct. To add a text of any sort on an invoice you need a plugin or custom code.

Please let me know if you have any other questions ??

    Thanks @doublezed2,

I’ll add the plugin as suggested. I’m extremely surprised Woo doesn’t have a built-in feature for store owners to add text or a custom note to be displayed on all invoices. It would seem like a simple way for owners to display additional notes/info not covered by existing fields.

Regardless, I do appreciate the prompt support. Keep up the good work ??

    Hi @gillesgagnon

We appreciate your feedback and understand how a built-in feature for adding custom text or notes on invoices could be beneficial. While WooCommerce does offer a lot of customization options, we understand that there’s always room for improvement.

In the meantime, the use of plugins is a great way to extend the functionality of your WooCommerce store and meet your specific needs.

We’re glad to hear that you found our support helpful. Your satisfaction is our top priority!

I will be marking this thread as resolved. Should you have further inquiries, kindly create a new topic here.

Meanwhile, if you have a moment to spare, we would love it if you could share your thoughts with us by leaving a review or feedback. Your experience and feedback are important to help us improve and ensure we’re always providing the best possible support.

    Thanks!
