How to display text based on url

  • Hi, I’m trying to make a WP template and I’d like to make it so that a certain piece of text is only displayed when the user is on the front page.

    So I’d like to put something like this in the index.php file:

    if blog home page, display the following text “blah blah”

    How can I do this with php?
