How to display tags under single post

I have been designing a child theme of twenty twelve to be used on my site. The design is nearly complete but i have one problem

In css i did “footer.entry-meta” for entry footer meta, as a result i lost the tags under post in single post page.

later on, i added ” <div><p><?php the_tags(); ?></p></div> ” below ” <nav class=”nav-single”> ” in my child’s “single.php”.

I want the tags to move above and displayed right where my single post ends. I couldn;t insert it inside the loop.
Any help from any one will be a life saver. Thanks in advance.
