Reading your plugin description WordPress slider plugin for Featured Content I was under the impression that the plugin would allow me to display specific, featured posts in the slider.

Is this correct? If so, how would I go about achieving this?

Setting up a specific category for this is counter intuitive (categories are not used for that purpose) and not acceptable for my client.

I thought maybe I’d be able to add specific posts for display in each sliders settings. Conversely I would have thought I’d see an option on each posts page asking me if I’d like to include it in a slider. This doesn’t appear to be the case.

    Am I missing anything here?

Is there any way I can go about displaying specific posts in a slider without setting up a specific category for it?

    Hi,

Lite version doesn’t offer this feature. Only in PRO version you can choose specific posts/pages/custom posts manually and create a slider based on them.

    Ok, thanks.

I might buy the pro version.

In the pro version, where exactly in the WordPress dashboard does one specify which posts they would like included in the slider? The usability aspect here is very important to my client. If they have to navigate to an individual page of the dashboard to specify which posts are included in the slider they wouldn’t be happy, as opposed to simply specifying each posts inclusion as an option on the edit post page itself.

    Hi,

Each slider can be edited and you can select the posts you want it to display. It is the only way this can be done.

    Thanks for your reply.

I’m not sure if I’m correct in my interpretation of your answer, but from it I gather that the website administrator is required to navigate to a separate slider settings page to assign the posts that they require to be displayed in the slider. Let me know if I’m wrong in my interpretation here.

If this is the case I’m less inclined to buy the pro version.

As mentioned, the usability of the plugin is very important for my (non techy) client. A good, usable implementation of specifying which posts display in the slider would be to include it as a simple option on the edit post page.

I know it seems trivial, but for people who aren’t as technically inclined as us it can make the difference between a stressful experience updating the site & a seamless, intuitive experience.

    Hi,

Yes, your assumption is correct, to add posts to a slider you will have to edit the slider. The idea isn’t bad though, maybe it will be included into a future update.

    Thanks for your response.

It would be great to see this included in a future update.
