how to display on site the total order and total sales of a category?

Hi,

I would like to display on my website the total amount of orders and the total money earned for a certain category.

ex:
category X
order past : 10
total sold : 150 €

Is there a way to display these data? is there a short code? or do you know a way to take this info from the reports, to display it on the site?
