How to display full name, not username for comments?

  • I’m new to WordPress and have been poking around the code trying to figure out how to display the full name for users with their comments rather than their username and have so far been unsuccessful at getting this changed. This is a security issue for me because I am drawing this information from an external database where usernames are a private matter. I’ve found this, but it really doesn’t make it clear what to do exactly:

    I partially answered my own question. Found the setting in the profiles to change this. However, I want to set it to first name last name BY DEFAULT. Does anyone know how to do this?

    I, too, would want to know how to apply a hack to this problem.

    Somebody PLEASE HELP ME! I desperately need to know how to change the DEFAULT display name when someone signs up for my website.
