• I need help with displaying the users first name and last name within the email notifications. At the moment the default is {display_name} but it displays without a space. I’ve tried {first_name} {last_name}, but nothing displays.

    Hi @fakierock,

If you enable HTML for e-mails, you can customize the HTML e-mail templates found in templates/email folder. Please see this doc:

    Thanks.

thanks, I’ve now setup the customised emails. However, I’m trying to add {first_name} {last_name} to the email template, but it’s displaying blank within the email. Do you know how to display the first name and last name of a user?

Two things, are you sure you are not using the ‘Account Welcome Email’ from the Admin panel > Ultimate Member > Settings > Emails, to send UM welcome emails?

Because if you are, and the ‘Account Welcome Email’ is switched on, whatever you are editing in the templates/email folder is not going to send your emails as you edited.

And second, there is no reason as to why the “Hi {display_name},” in the message body there, shouldn’t display the first name and last name separated correctly.

    Just making sure.

Thanks for getting back to me. I figured out why it wasn’t displaying. I decided against using custom HTML email templates and am using the default account welcome email. I realised that in my registration form, unless I set “can user edit this field” to “yes”, the first_name, last_name doesn’t display in the emails. The Pending Review Email doesn’t display the first_name last_name fields either, so I’ve had to turn it off. It only displays the display_name which shows like this firstnamelastname all lowercase and no gap.

    I have the same problem. i’ve used {first_name} {last_name} in my E-Mails, but {last_name} is empty….
