How to display always all available langages as default RSS feeds?
-
Hi Choubi,
I hope you will be able to help me. I would like to display always all available feeds for my site (a total of 4) regardless the language of the page I am on. Additionally, I am wondering if some change might be made in the structure of the URLS of my defaults feeds since I use your plugin and some static pages as frontpages (with an independant blog subsection).
Anyway, below is the whole picture of what I would like to obtain and display as default feeds from any page of my site:
- Mes billets en fran?ais [means: my posts in French]: https://www.erwan-francois.info/blog/feed
- My posts in English: https://www.erwan-francois.info/en/the-blog/feed
- Commentaires sous mes billets en fran?ais [means: comments on my posts in French]: https://www.erwan-francois.info/blog/comments/feed
- Comments on my posts in English: https://www.erwan-francois.info/en/the-blog/comments/feed
Some details:
- I am using Polylang (last version) on a WordPress 4 site which have contents in two different languages (French and English). I use two static pages as French and English homepages.
- My permalinks and Polylang settings might be seen as screenshots here:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B4E3xo923lmYM3ZlcFlsRmlJZ1k&usp=sharing - Today, with polylang installed, three RSS 2.0 feeds are made available by default from my French pages as seen in a browser. One can see them here (screenshot from Firefox):
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4E3xo923lmYN25hcjI3bE9MWFk/edit?pli=1 - Three equivalent feeds are available from English pages but with a /en virtual subfolder inserted in URLs. See them here:

I am (gently) bothered with those points:
1. For each language, the second and third feeds are redundant. If you take the English version, those two feeds deliver the same contents (but non content to display at this moment):
https://www.erwan-francois.info/en/comments/feed
https://www.erwan-francois.info/en/home/feed2. For each language, the third feed (ending by “home/feed”) is useless (and its URL does not relate obviously to comments).
3. Though my blog posts are mentioned on my home page as excerpts, they are more precisely coming from the Blog entry of my site in both languages:
– Blog part in French: https://www.erwan-francois.info/blog/
– Blog part in English: https://www.erwan-francois.info/en/the-blog/Therefore the default URLs of the RSS feeds for my posts should rather be respectively:
https://www.erwan-francois.info/blog/feed
https://www.erwan-francois.info/en/the-blog/feed4. Eventually, I think it would be handy for my subscribers to have a permanent whole view on defaults feeds available. Some sites made such a choice (though their choices may be a little bit different from mine), such as: https://www.atelier.net/
Its default feeds list (as a screenshot):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4E3xo923lmYa3NJSXV2Z2RCUDQ/view?usp=sharingDo you have any idea of how I could achieve this rather easily (I am not a coder but of course I can make some specific changes in code)?
Thanks for your time and attention.
Erwan
