How to display a static front page

Hi Alessandro,

I tried to contact you on your website through comments and email, but didn’t find a way. So I decided to post here.

First of all, I have to say you have done a great job with this plugin and I think I’ll use it on a website I’m developing.

Unfortunately I have an issue I can’t figure out how to solve. I’d like to show a static front page and of course in all the languages supported by the site.
I already went to Settings > Reading and set the front page to Front Page and post index to Blog: what I get is that when I refresh the settings’ page only the posts index is selected. WP doesn’t keep my choice.. so, of course, the home page of the website displays the latest blog posts and not the front page.
I think it has to do with your plugin because if I deactivate it works properly. I know maybe it will be some little stupid thing but I can’t figure out what it is.
If it helps I’m using pretty permalinks and front-page.php to do a custom query…
